New York City Hop on, Hop Off Double Deck Bus Tours

The Double Deck bus tours of New York have what they call a hop on and hop off pass.

They visit all the major attractions. I"ll explain how the tours work. The different routes visit different groups of locations. Double Decker Hop on, Hop off buses have the Uptown Tour Loop, the Downtown Tour Loop, the Brooklyn Loop, and the Night Tour. Each offer a piece of all the New York City variety you could possibly want. Each tour (loop) lasts from two to three hours, if you do not hop off. The loops run from 8 am to 5 pm. At your leisure you can either ride and listen to the narrated tour or hop off at one of the sites, visit or shop, and then hop on the next bus that arrives to continue the journey. But that is not the best of it. The best part is that the passes are good all day long. OK, even better, they are good for two or three days! Of course, the duration depends upon your choice of pass. The view from a double decker bus offer unobstructed vision of all New York sites.

The Uptown Loop visits Harlem, Central Park, Lincoln Center, Dakota Apartments, Museum Mile and More. Along the tour route you will find multiple dining and shopping options. The routes leave every 45 minutes Jan. to March and every 30 minutes the rest of the year.

The downtown Tour Loop visits Times Square, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, World Trade Center site, Little Italy, and much more. This tour leaves every 10 to 15 minutes April to December and every 30 minutes the remainder of the year.

The Brooklyn Loop lets you see the Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Museum, Antique Furniture District, Fulton Mall, plus 5th and 7th Avenues boutiques, restaurants, shops, dining, and more. The Brooklyn Loop leaves at 11, 12, 2, and 3.

Finally, the Night Tour has the holiday"s lights from Nov. 24th to Jan. 6th. The rest of the year, ending on Nov. 22nd you"ll travel through Chinatown, Soho, Rockefeller Center and more enjoying the New York City lights. Enjoy the city lights on one of either the two nights of the multiple day pass. Remember that all tours are closed on Christmas and New Years Days.

The four tour loops mentioned above are part of the 48 hour pass. The tour operators provide a pass for the ferry to The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. This pass can be used at anytime during your New York City visit; it is not limited to only tour times. If other attraction tickets are desired they are available with a select few being complimentary. Do you think you could get your fill of sites and shopping with a two day transportation pass? Of course you could; most likely you will not use a pass to its full potential. It is a great way to view the city while you ride to the one of many adventures that the city offers.

The Big Apple can be enjoyed on a budget with a hop on hop off pass. If one properly plans and chooses wisely New York City can be the ultimate adventure for far less money than could be imagined. Such an exciting place, most think it has to cost a fortune. However, many just get a tour pass and see it all. The double deck buses are one option to family affordable fun.
